2 men found dead in rented room

MANILA, Philippines - Two men were found dead at a house in Quezon City Monday night.

One of the victims, Edwin Valdez, had asked Jolly Anne Calzado if they could stay in one of the rooms of their house at around 7 p.m. Monday.

Calzado told police she allowed the victims to stay while she and her husband slept at a relative’s house.

Her neighbor, Julito Avilona, told investigators he heard the two men “moaning and gasping” and sought help.

Police officers found the two men lying dead on the floor, with a 12-inch bolo nearby.

Valdez sustained multiple stab wounds while his companion bore a single stab wound in the back.

There are reports that the two men stabbed each other, while other reports state that the two men were killed by a still unidentified assailant.
