Motorcycle rider dies in mishap

MANILA, Philippines - A 36-year-old motorcycle rider died after he was hit by a truck in Valenzuela City at dawn yesterday. Police said Wilfredo Eisma died on the spot from severe head injuries.
Reports said the victim was thrown several meters away after the truck driven by Joseph Legaspi sideswiped him along MacArthur Highway in Malanday at around 3 a.m.
Legaspi surrendered to the police after the accident. Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide will be filed against him.
