2 hired killers nabbed in QC
MANILA, Philippines - Two men who confessed to being contract killers were arrested by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) yesterday after they shot dead a store helper.
Mark de Vera, 24, and Salvador Furio, 27, gunned down Michael Marcelo as he was attending to customers at the Aconda store on Wednesday afternoon for P50,000, according to QCPD director Chief Superintendent Joel Pagdilao.
A Ruger 9mm pistol and a Caspian .45 caliber pistol were confiscated from the suspects.
The two men admitted to the crime, saying a certain “Romy” hired them to kill Marcelo for allegedly harassing a nurse whose husband is a police officer.
Pagdilao said the two men were also linked to a P20,000 contract killing in Binangonan, Rizal this year but Furio said he only received P3,000 and De Vera P4,000.
He said the two men will be charged with murder and violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law.
