Teen gang-raped in QC

MANILA, Philippines - A 13-year-old girl was gang-raped in Quezon City Saturday, police said yesterday.

The girl told police she was walking home just before midnight when Mamerto Valenzuela, 29, approached her and told her one of her friends was in the house of “Alvin.”

She went with Valenzuela but when they got to Alvin’s house, another man, Richard Mendoza, pointed a knife at her neck and the two men dragged her into the house.

Mendoza and Valenzuela raped her as Alvin served as a lookout, the girl said.

The suspects threatened her to keep the rape secret, but the girl told her friends and reported the attack to local police officers. Valenzuela was arrested while Mendoza and Alvin escaped.
