Arms cache found in businessman’s car

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Three guns and various types of ammunition were found in a businessman’s car after he was arrested for indiscriminate firing in Quezon City on Saturday.

According to complainant Jeremy Quizon, he went out of the house when he heard gunshots and saw Jonrick Windsor, 41, get out of his car – a Toyota Innova – holding a handgun at around 5 p.m. The car blocked the entrance of the Galguera Compound in Barangay Talipapa.

Police officers who responded to calls for help arrested Windsor, who “violently resisted” the lawmen until he was subdued.

Police officers confiscated a loaded 9mm pistol from Windsor and found three magazines when they frisked him.

An Escort Magnum shotgun, a Luger submachine gun, an airsoft gun, 23 9mm bullets, 11 shotgun cartridges, a magazine for a .40 caliber pistol, and two boxes of spent 9mm shells were found in Windsor’s car.

Police officers also found firearms licenses for a 12-gauge shotgun and a .40 caliber Glock pistol under the name of Dexter Domingo Paz in Windsor’s car.

They also seized a firearms license for a 9mm pistol, but the police report did not mention the owner’s name.

A Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency identification card under Windsor’s name was also found in his car.

Windsor will be charged with malicious mischief, alarm and scandal, violation of Republic Act 10591 (the comprehensive firearms and ammunition law), resistance and disobedience to agent of a person in authority, the Quezon City Police District said.
