Vendor shot dead in Manila

MANILA, Philippines -A 32-year-old vendor was shot dead in Quiapo, Manila yesterday morning.

Jennifer Sulayman was walking home along Basan street when she was shot at close range by a still unidentified assailant.

She suffered two gunshot wounds near her waist, according to Senior Police Officer 3 Glenzor Vallejo of the Manila Police District’s homicide division.

Witnesses described the gunman as 5’5” tall and between 30 and 35 years old. He was wearing a blue jacket and denim pants. 

Investigators said they have yet to establish a motive for Sulayman’s murder, although they suspect the man who shot her was a hired killer.

They are looking into Sulayman’s debts and her possible involvement in illegal activities.
