9 escaped inmates back at QC jail

MANILA, Philippines - Nine of 16 inmates who escaped from the Cubao police station jail Wednesday are back in police custody, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said yesterday.

The latest to be re-arrested were Dennis Natividad and Miguel Gino, who are accused of violating City Ordinance 5121, which penalizes the possession of deadly weapons; and Roberto Valdez, charged with robbery. 

The inmates who were earlier recaptured were Robert Lacaba, charged with alarm and scandal; Benedict Guinto and Thomas Evan Labutong, violation of City Ordinance 1521; Rigor Alejandrino theft and shoplifting; John Patrick Dionido, rape and robbery; Emerson Castro, frustrated homicide.

The manhunt for seven more escapees from the Cubao police station jail is still ongoing, the QCPD said.
