Drug, gun gang busted in Taguig
MANILA, Philippines - Five alleged members of a gang involved in drug trafficking and gunrunning were arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Taguig City yesterday.
Roger Ortiz, Abdullah Banog, Ronnie Imbalgan, Jun-jun Panday and Dodoy Toling reportedly belong to the Sahid Utto gang, CIDG chief Director Benjamin Magalong said.
The suspects were arrested during a raid on their alleged hideout on C6 Road in Barangay Napindan. The operation was covered by four search warrants issued by a Taguig court.
Magalong said the gang is also involved in contract killings and robberies in Pasig, Taguig and Taytay, Rizal.
Police officers also confiscated methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with a street value of at least P1 million, an improvised shotgun, two .45 caliber pistols and assorted ammunition, P6,200 and various identification cards.
The CIDG also recovered a dead police officer’s badge, allegedly used by the gang.
