Maid gunned down in QC

MANILA, Philippines - A house helper was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Quezon City Sunday morning.

Monica Ugay, 23, had been working as a house helper at the residence of Lina Muñoz for nearly five years, police said.

A water delivery boy who witnessed the attack said he saw two men on a motorcycle stop in front of a house at around 10 a.m. and the back rider shot the victim in the left eye when she opened the door, according to Chief Inspector Rodel Marcelo, who heads the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit.

Marcelo said they are checking if the unidentified assailants pretended to deliver gifts for the victim’s employer.
