MRT, LRT shorten hours on Dec. 24, 31
MANILA, Philippines - The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT) and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines 1 and 2 will have shorter hours on Christmas and New Year’s Eves.
Hernando Cabrera, spokesman of the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) and MRT, said the MRT will dispatch the last train from its North Avenue station at 8:30 p.m. and from its Taft Avenue station at 9:14 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 31.
The MRT’s usual hours are from 4:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends.
The LRT-1, on the other hand, will dispatch its last trains from its Baclaran and Roosevelt stations at 8 p.m. on Dec. 24 and at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31.
Cabrera also announced the shortened operating hours for LRT-2. The last train from the Santolan station will leave at 8 p.m. and Recto station at 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 24 and from Santolan at 7 p.m. and Recto at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 31.
