MANILA, Philippines - An alleged leader of a robbery group was arrested in Caloocan City Monday.
Rolando Edio, 44, who reportedly leads the Lando crime gang, was allegedly about to stage a robbery in Barangay 28 when he was caught by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Northern Police District. A .45 caliber pistol and a hand grenade were confiscated from Edio, said Senior Inspector Rito Sebuala, the leader of the CIDG team.
Edio and his group are not only involved in robberies and muggings but also in contract killings, according to Senior Superintendent Danilo Macerin, head of the CIDG-National Capital Region.
