Robbery suspect arrested in QC

MANILA, Philippines - A robbery suspect tagged as the most wanted person in the eastern part of Metro Manila has been arrested in Quezon City.

Romeo Cahilig Gonzales, 53, of Barangay Silangan, was arrested at his house at past 10 p.m. Sunday, Quezon City Police District director Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao said. 

He said the suspect, identified as the Eastern Police District’s most wanted, is reportedly involved in numerous robberies targeting taxi drivers. The EPD has jurisdiction over the cities of Marikina, Pasig, San Juan and Mandaluyong.

The arrest was based on  a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Maria Filemona Singh of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 85 for robbery. The court set bail at P100,000.
