9 stolen cars recovered in Parañaque

Perseus Echeminada - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Parañaque police recovered Tuesday night nine vehicles allegedly stolen by people who built a bogus rent-a-car firm.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Ariel Andrade said the cars were found at a vacant lot in Multinational Village, Barangay Moonwalk.

Andrade said the police operation was an offshoot of a criminal case filed by Remia Bulaclac and seven others against Russell Dolor Pacia and Romulo Dolor Pacia Jr., both of Sun Valley, Parañaque.

The suspects are facing estafa and car theft charges before the Pasay City prosecutor’s office.

The complainants said they were convinced by the suspects to lend their cars to the rent-a-car firm. They said they were promised at least P30,000 monthly for the deal.

However, the victims said their cars were no longer returned and the suspects disappeared after three months.

Andrade said Bulaclac sought police help after receiving a tip that his car was spotted in the area.

Police recovered four units of Nissan Somera, a Kia Picanto, three Toyota Vios and a Toyota Innova.

Police said they are looking to recover at least 30 more vehicles allegedly stolen by the suspects.
