2 kids die in Pasig blaze

MANILA, Philippines - Two children were killed when a 30-minute fire razed a residential area in Barangay Kalawaan, Pasig City yesterday.

The fire started in Arnel Alyaris’ house at around 8:30 a.m. just as Arlyn Alyaris, 5, and AC Nepomuceno, were reportedly playing in the house, city police chief Senior Superintendent Jun Hidalgo said.

Responding firemen put out the blaze before it could reach the first alarm, said Hidalgo. Arson probers are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
