Corpse in suitcase dumped in Makati

Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A suitcase stuffed with a woman’s badly decomposed corpse was left by two unidentified women in Barangay Poblacion, Makati City early yesterday.

The brown suitcase was found by Virginia Flores, a resident, shortly after it was left by two “Asian, foreign-looking” women at the corner of Jacobo and Fermina streets at around 4:30 a.m., city police chief Senior Superintendent Ernesto Barlam said.

According to initial reports, a taxi stopped at the intersection and the two identified women stepped out, dragging the suitcase.

Investigators said the corpse was first wrapped in plastic, then in a bedsheet and again in plastic before being put in the suitcase. The body was covered with clothes and sprinkled with charcoal in what could have been an attempt to mask the stench.
