MANILA, Philippines - A University of the Philippines (UP) professor, whose wife and son were allegedly the victims in a road rage incident in Quezon City, also wants to file criminal charges against a motorist whose escort allegedly threatened the complainants.
In an interview, the professor said he wants the motorist, in the white Toyota Land Cruiser (PQS-904), be held criminally liable for the incident along Congressional Avenue on Monday.
Based on the account of the UP professor and his wife, also a UP professor, the motorist’s escort, in a silver Toyota Innova (ZEL-124), allegedly shouted invectives at their son, then driving the Toyota Fortuner.
The passenger of the Innova, when it eventually blocked the Fortuner, allegedly got out of the Innova and pulled out a gun.
Records showed that the plate number of the Innova is registered under the name of Priscilla Meneses, the mother of Bulacan, Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses. The plate number of the Land Cruiser is registered to Mactan Construction Supply.
In a separate interview, Quezon City Police District director Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao said he had sent investigators to verify the ownership of the vehicles.
Pagdilao said his investigators had yet to reach out to the Meneses family since they were still in the process of verifying the license plate numbers.
