JIL fest in Rizal Park today

MANILA, Philippines - Expect traffic gridlocks in the vicinity of Rizal Park today as more than one million members of the Jesus Is Lord (JIL) Church Worldwide assemble for the 36th anniversary of their religious organization.

In a statement, the organizers asked for the public’s understanding, saying they would organize and implement strict measures to minimize traffic congestion. The anniversary celebration will begin at 3 p.m.

This year’s theme is peace, which JIL founder Eddie Villanueva said is the call of the time amid the negative news dominating the local and international media.

 “Our pursuit for peace as a nation is best demonstrated with our own President Aquino leading us all in a prayer for consecration,” he said.

According to Villanueva, the church should strive to make itself relevant in all areas of society, including the government.
