‘Good development’ seen in Picache ma’s slay probe

MANILA, Philippines - There may be a “good development” within the week in the investigation of the killing of actress Cherry Pie Picache’s mother, a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) insider said yesterday.

Picache, accompanied by her siblings, went to the NBI’s Death Investigation Division office yesterday afternoon for a closed-door meeting with agents and officials who are looking into the murder of her 75-year-old mother Zenaida Sison.

After their three-hour meeting, Picache said they were very satisfied with the progress of the NBI’s probe.

“We are very grateful and we are more than satisfied with the on going investigation and the developments we were updated today,” she said, commending the NBI for its speedy work.

Picache added that the NBI investigation’s direction is close to the parallel probe being done by the Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit. She reiterated that their amily is also pleased with the work done by the QCPD.

“As we have said if this thing (brutal death of a love one) happened to you, you would utilize everything to resolve the case and bring justice to what has been done to our mother,” she said.

Sison was found dead on the second floor of her house in Quezon City last Sept. 19. She lived alone and only three cleaning ladies who work in shifts as well as two gardeners had access to the house.
