Singer pleads not guilty in precinct row

Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Television host and singer Billy Crawford pleaded not guilty to two counts of disobedience and resistance and one of malicious mischief during his arraignment at the Taguig Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 74 yesterday.

Crawford earlier posted P6,000 bail for the charges of resistance and disobedience and malicious mischief.

Inquest Prosecutor Arthur Pefianco said bail for Crawford’s temporary liberty was set by the Metropolitan Trial Court of Taguig at P2,000 for each count.

Police Officers 1 Rodelma Canao and Jasmine Zipagan, who were on duty in the police precinct at The Fort, said an allegedly drunk Crawford arrived at the precinct and demanded to be brought to the Taguig police headquarters.

He became unruly and struck the precinct’s sliding glass door, shattering it, they said. Crawford continued to run amuck until PO2 Anthony Llagas and PO1 Francis Nicholas arrested him.
