‘Hulidap’ cop is worth P6.5 M

MANILA, Philippines - Among the police officers implicated in the EDSA “hulidap” case, Senior Inspector Oliver Villanueva appears to be the richest.

Based on his personal data sheet, Villanueva’s net worth in 2013 was P6,575,000.

In 2012, his net worth was P6,685,533 down from P7,338,000 in 2010.

However, Villanueva’s gross income in 2012 was only P605,133. There was no entry for his gross income in 2013. His gross income in 2011 was P547,011.

It is not clear if Villanueva has other sources of income. He has been relieved as chief of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 1 intelligence and investigation branch.

Chief Inspector Joseph de Vera, another officer linked to the case, has no recent record of his net worth. His last record was in 2009, with P370,000.

De Vera’s gross income in 2009 was P248,870. It increased to P297,889 in 2010. De Vera was deputy commander of QCPD Station 1.

Police Officer 2 Ebonn Decatoria had a net worth of P4,960,000 in 2013. His net worth was P1,105,000 in 2010 and P1,075,000 in 2009.

Decatoria’s gross income in 2013 was P350,216.

QCPD director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano has ordered a lifestyle check on policemen tagged in the hulidap.
