QCPD forms team to catch cop’s killers

MANILA, Philippines - Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano ordered yesterday the creation and activation of a special investigating panel to go after the ones behind the killing of Chief Inspector Roderick Medrano on Monday. 

Medrano, chief of operations of the QCPD Station 4, was ambushed at the corner of San Diego Drive and Zabarte Road in Barangay Kaligayahan Monday morning.

The special investigating task group will be headed by QCPD deputy director for operations Senior Superintendent Procopio Lipana.

 He will be assisted by Superintendent Dennis de Leon, commander of the QCPD Station 5, whose area of jurisdiction covers the site of the killing.  

The other members of the panel are Superintendents Rodrigo Bauto, intelligence division head; Michael Macapagal, head of the Investigation and Detection Division; Fransisco Supe Jr., crime laboratory head; and Chief Inspector Rodelio Marcelo, head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit.
