MANILA, Philippines - Following the discovery of fake stickers used by some buses plying the EDSA route, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said yesterday it will issue new stickers for the agency’s bus segregation scheme starting next week.
“Bus operators and drivers have been resorting to using counterfeit stickers... so they can load and unload passengers anywhere they please,” MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said.
Under the MMDA’s bus segregation scheme along EDSA, buses with “A” stickers will be issued green stickers; “B” buses, yellow stickers; and “C” buses, orange stickers. The stickers, which are free, will be given to bus operators by the agency’s bus management dispatch system office.
“A” and “B” buses can only use designated bus stops while “C” buses are allowed to use all bus stops.
