QC museum soon to be inaugurated
MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City government will require public and private school students to visit the soon to be inaugurated city museum at the Quezon Memorial Circle.
Mayor Herbert Bautista said this will enhance awareness of the city’s history and development among the youth.
Bautista has ordered the Division of City Schools to coordinate with the local government in crafting the rules for the conduct of field trips for public schools.
“We are planning to include private schools in the implementation of the new ordinance for field trips to discover the various structures and destinations that the city has been constructing, such as the high-tech QC Museum,” he said.
Bautista disclosed the possible acquisition of a property adjacent to the Tandang Sora Shrine where another museum will be built.
He said requiring public and private schools to visit the museum during field trips will boost the city’s income.
There are 400 public schools and 150 private schools in the city.
Instead of going outside Quezon City for educational trips, Bautista said it is better to first explore the city’s rich history.
