MANILA, Philippines - Two persons were killed and four others were wounded in separate shooting incidents in the southern part of the metropolis shortly before dawn yesterday.
Chief Superintendent Jose Erwin Villacorte, Southern Police District director, said the first incident broke out when a police officer shot dead two robbery suspects just before 3 a.m. in Cupang, Muntinlupa City.
The second occurred at around 3:20 a.m. in Barangay 42, Zone 15 in Pasay City, when two motorcycle-riding men shot and wounded a jeepney barker, a bus dispatcher a tricycle driver and a bystander.
The victims were identified as alias Saddam, Ricky Gerladino, Fred Bilagot and Aaron Dominique.
Investigation showed the suspects first shot Saddam and sped away.
The gunmen returned minutes later and fired at the crowd milling around the victim.
