Alleged gang man slain in daycare center

MANILA, Philippines - An alleged member of the Batang City Jail gang was shot dead in a daycare center in Tondo, Manila at past midnight yesterday.

Christopher Barro had gone into the Young Focus Daycare Center in Vitas after buying a soda at around 12:45 a.m., Senior Police Officer 3 Glenzor Vallejo said.

He was shot in the head by an unidentified assailant and died on the scene, he said.

Investigators are looking at a drug deal gone sour as one of the motives for the killing.
