Missing Japanese exec’s daughter, boyfriend eyed as suspects
MANILA, Philippines - A daughter of a missing Japanese executive and her boyfriend are being eyed as suspects in the foreigner’s disappearance, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said yesterday.
Ashley Okada and Don Raleigh Reyes are in hiding, Joey Ajero of the NBI’s Death Investigation Division said.
He told The STAR Reyes’ father, Don Niel dela Peña, went to the NBI last week and told investigators that his son called him up and informed him they had killed Yuji Okada, a ranking official of an appliance firm, and his girlfriend, Honeylyn Cirunay.
Yuji and Cirunay, who disappeared on June 28, met with Ashley and Reyes at one of Yuji’s houses in Parañaque City to discuss property settlement, Dela Peña said.
Ashley’s black Honda sedan (ZPT-727) was allegedly used to transport the bodies of Yuji and Cirunay to Quezon province, where they were dumped, according to Ajero.
