Flames hit building in QC

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Properties worth a total of P500,000 were destroyed by flames that razed a building in Quezon City on Monday night.

City fire marshall Superintendent Jesus Fernandez said two persons were rescued after being trapped in the burning building.

Josephine Arcega, 49, and Paolo Arcega, 29, were rescued from their condominium unit.

Fernandez said the flames broke out just before midnight Monday at a printing press in the building.

The smoke produced by the flames made it difficult for firefighters to get inside.

The fire reached second alarm before the last flames were put out just before 1 a.m. yesterday.
