Cop gunned down in Muntinlupa

MANILA, Philippines - A policeman was shot dead in front of his house in Alabang, Muntinlupa City Sunday night.

According to initial reports, Senior Police Officer 3 Rolando Lavares, a member of the city’s mobile police force, was about to enter his house at around 9:30 p.m. when unidentified assailants shot him repeatedly.

Lavares died on the scene. Investigators have yet to find out the motive for the killing.
