Thieves target 3 tourists in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Three tourists lost valuables to thieves in Manila over the weekend.

Japanese Koichi Ashizuka, 41, told police he was lounging in Birch Tower Hotel’s pool area at around 5 p.m. Saturday when an unidentified woman took his iPhone 5S.

American William John Bies filed a complaint Saturday, saying he was walking near the corner of Pedro Gil street and Taft Avenue at around 2 p.m. Thursday when his iPhone 4S was stolen by three male pickpockets.

Ezra Mwesigwa, 50, of Hong Kong, reported that three men robbed him of his money at a convenience store near the Grand Opera Hotel along Rizal Avenue near midnight Saturday.
