Junkshop worker stabbed dead

MANILA, Philippines - A junkshop worker was stabbed dead in Tondo, Manila shortly before Friday midnight.

Joseph Luzero succumbed to two stab wounds in the chest inflicted by a man identified only as “Robin.”

Senior Police Officer 1 John Duran of the Manila Police District homicide section said Robin attacked Luzero at 11:20 p.m.

The victim was walking along Aroma Compound when the suspect lunged at him, twice in the chest.

When Luzero fell, Robin fled, bringing with him the knife he used in killing the victim.

Duran said investigators are still determining the motive for the murder.

Luzero’s remains were brought to the St. Rich Funeral Home for autopsy, police said.
