Malabon cop arrested for shabu, unlicensed gun
MANILA, Philippines - A Malabon City policeman was arrested in Makati City Wednesday night for possessing shabu and an unlicensed .45 caliber pistol.
Police Officer 1 Jomar Clemente was riding a motorcycle when he was stopped at a checkpoint in Barangay Comembo for not wearing a crash helmet, Makati police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban said.
Police officers manning the checkpoint searched Clemente after he presented an expired driver’s license. They found a gram of what they suspect to be shabu and a .45 caliber pistol whose license has expired.
Clemente was also found to be absent without official leave from the Malabon police, Lukban said.
Clemente, who is now detained at the Makati Police headquarters, has been the subject of police surveillance for his reported drug dealings in Makati.
Lukban said Clemente will face charges of illegal possession of firearms and possession of illegal drugs.
