Victim tails rob suspect home
MANILA, Philippines - A suspected robber, known for killing most of his victims, was arrested last week when one of his victims followed him to his house in Tondo, Manila, a relative of one of his alleged victims said yesterday.
Leonardo Pajares’ latest victim, who declined to be identified, discovered his house when he tailed the suspect to Garcia street minutes after getting robbed.
When the victim saw Pajares, 32, enter his house in Tondo, he rushed to the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 2, where he learned that the man who robbed him was wanted for killing Alwyn Cortez.
Cortez was 26 when Pajares and his still unidentified accomplice robbed and stabbed him in the chest on Garcia street on Oct. 24, 2013, according to Cortez’s sister, Malou.
A surveillance camera in the area showed Cortez walking home when he encountered Pajares on the street. Pajares and his accomplice followed Cortez until he reached a dark area, where they robbed him and left him for dead, Malou said.
Pajares will be turned over to MPD homicide section pending the release of his commitment order from the court.
