Man drowns in Navotas

Ramil Bajo, Rey Galupo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A 37-year-old man allegedly suffering from epilepsy drowned in Navotas City Thursday night.

Robert Fuentes, a resident of Chongka street in Barangay Tanza, accompanied his father, Bienvenido, to the bay area shortly before 7 p.m. to collect bamboo poles they will use as fishing rods, Navotas police chief Conrado Gongon Jr. said.

Bienvenido left the water when a downpour started while his son remained. When Bienvenido returned after the rain stopped, he found his son dead and floating on the water.

Investigators theorized the victim may have suffered a seizure and drowned.
