Man shot by brod-in-law over land dispute

MANILA, Philippines - A man was shot by his brother-in-law over a land dispute in Quezon City yesterday morning.

Elmer Villanueva was taken to the St. Luke’s Medical Center for treatment, police said.

Benito Enriquez barged into Villanueva’s house on Maranthon street, Barangay Obrero and shot the victim, said Superintendent Pedro Sanchez, commander of the Quezon City Police District-Station 2.

Sanchez said Enriquez shot Villanueva in the abdomen with a caliber .45 gun.

Police said the suspect is the brother of the victim’s wife, who is reportedly abroad.

Prior to the attack, Sanchez said the two had an argument regarding family properties.

Police have launched a manhunt for Enriquez.
