Abandoned Porsche claimed by owner

MANILA, Philippines - Lawyers representing a firm that owns a Porsche Cayenne, abandoned in San Juan City last week, went to the local police headquarters yesterday to claim the vehicle.

Reggie Agustin and Octavio Katigbak took custody of the vehicle after presenting ownership documents.

Agustin said a certain John Ferdinand Mendoza leased the vehicle from Value Super Shop, which is owned by the bank represented by the lawyers, starting Feb. 21.

He said Mendoza reportedly failed to pay the rent on the vehicle for the past three months, apparently prompting him to abandon the vehicle at a parking lot along Connecticut street in Greenhills last week.

The bank is set to go after Mendoza, Agustin said.
