Slain cop’s brod names suspect
MANILA, Philippines - The brother of a policeman slain in an attack in Quezon City has pointed to a man who could be involved in the killing, an official said yesterday.
A man named Losbriggs Fabro was allegedly seen talking to two men who staged the murder of Police Officer 1 Khrissan Nad, before the actual killing, said Chief Inspector Rodel Marcelo, head of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD).
Marcelo said the victim’s brother, Police Officer 1 Bernice Vladimir Nad, claimed he saw this scene moments before the attack.
Marcelo said the older brother was on the house terrace and saw the actual attack on the victim.
Inspector Elmer Monsalve, head of the Homicide Investigation Section of the QCPD-CIDU, said Fabro had allegedly had a past dispute with the victim. It was not clear what the nature of the dispute had been.
Nad was assigned with the QCPD Station 3.
On Thursday night, the victim had just gotten off a motorcycle with his cousin, John Alfred Alipio, near their house in Barangay Bahay Toro when they were shot from behind by a man.
Nad died on Friday morning after he succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head. Alipio was shot in the back.
The assailant then ran and boarded a waiting motorcycle driven by a cohort. The two men, still unidentified, sped away.
