1,029 pass PNP promotion exams

Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) has 144 new inspectors and 81 superintendents after 1,029 examinees passed the promotional examinations given by the National Police Commission (Napolcom) in April.

Of the 1,029 examinees who took the Inspector Exam, only 144 or 13.99 percent passed. Eighty-one or 34.91 percent of the 232 examinees hurdled the Superintendent Exam.

“The initial list of passers in the PNP Entrance, Police Officer and Senior Police Officer Exams was released on June 5, only five weeks after the conduct of the exams instead of the usual two months,” Napolcom Vice Chairman Eduardo Escue-ta said yesterday.

Escueta said the early release of the police exams results was in line with the Napolcom’s commitment to the PNP and the Department of Budget and Management to make the examination results in synch with the recruitment and promotion processing periods set by the police force.

The commission assessed the competency of police officers who took the PNP promotional exams based on their knowledge on general information, police administration and operations, police customs and tradition and values and ethical standards.

On the other hand, the aptitude of examinees for the PNP Entrance Exam was gauged based on the following subject areas: general information, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and logical reasoning.

Visit www.napolcom.gov.ph for the full list of successful examinees. Individual reports of rating will be mailed to the examinees.

Verification of test results will be entertained at the Napolcom main office at the DILG-Napolcom Center along EDSA corner Quezon Avenue, West Triangle, Quezon City and its regional offices starting the last week of June.
