Indian exec’s wife found dead in Pasig

Non Alquitran - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The wife of an Indian executive was found dead in their bedroom in Valle Verde 2, Pasig City yesterday.

Pirya Banga, 27, was found by her husband, Gaurav, hanging by a scarf looped around her neck, with the scarf’s other end tied to a wooden ceiling fan at around 4:30 a.m., Senior Superintendent Mario Rariza, Pasig City police chief said.

Gaurav is a director of Hinduja Global Solutions Inc., an outsourcing firm.

According to Rariza, Gaurav brought down his wife’s body and sought the assistance of Dr. Federico Gomez, apparently to revive the victim.

Rariza said the victim’s body was taken by a Scene of the Crime Operation team and brought to the crime laboratory of the Philippine National Police for autopsy.

Senior Inspector Guillermo Flores, investigation chief of the Pasig City police, said they are still trying to determine what drove Banga to kill herself, although no suicide note was recovered at the crime scene.
