MANILA, Philippines - A man was arrested for allegedly robbing a jewelry store in Caloocan City before dawn yesterday.
Michael Carino, 39, was arrested by police officers who were alerted by bystanders who heard a commotion in the Threshold Silver Shop along Bustamante street in Monumento.
According to the police, employees Noland Avendanio and Joel Inocentes were about to enter the shop at around 3 a.m. when the suspect and two others accosted them and dragged them into the store at gunpoint.
The suspects told the employees to lie down on the floor before breaking the glass panels and taking all the silver jewelry.
Carino was cornered while his two companions escaped in a blue car with plate number THE-387.
The shop’s owner pegged the stolen items’ value at P317,598.
