UST guards foil robbery

MANILA, Philippines - Security guards of the University of Santo Tomas rescued a student and arrested a man who robbed her on campus Saturday night.

Jannus Cruz, alias Arnel, was caught when he tried to flee after grabbing the bag of Jae Marie Abuan, who had left it on a bench at around 6:45 p.m.

Abuan tried to stop Cruz, who threatened her with a knife, according to a police report.

Cruz was charged with robbery with intimidation by the Manila Police District.
