Stolen motorbike recovered in Valenzuela

Ramil Bajo, Rey Galupo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A stolen motorcycle was recovered in a sting operation staged in Valenzuela City Saturday to catch the person who wanted to sell it through a classified ads website.

Irvin Miranda told police his motorcycle was stolen in front of a pawnshop along Gen. T. de Leon Road on May 23. Last week, he saw his vehicle posted on the website sulit.com and contacted the seller, pretending he was interested in buying it, according to Valenzuela City police chief Senior Superintendent Rhoderick Armamento.

The seller agreed to bring the motorcycle to the parking lot of a fastfood restaurant on Gen. Luis street in Paso de Blas. Miranda and a police team went to the area shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday and saw his motorcycle, but the seller escaped, Armamento said.

After Miranda showed documents proving his ownership, the police turned over the motorcycle to him.
