Nigerian hurt in QC blaze

MANILA, Philippines - A 29-year-old Nigerian suffered injuries following a blaze at a church where he was staying in Quezon City yesterday morning.

A radio report said Gerry Gideon, who was staying at Team Ministries International church at Kamuning Road corner T. Gener street, sustained burns and suffered from suffocation.

The fire, which supposedly started at Gideon’s room, started at around 6:45 a.m. and put out less than an hour later, said Quezon City fire marshal Superintendent Jesus Fernandez.

The blaze destroyed around P500,000 worth of property, he added.
