Fire hits NCRPO cops’ quarters

MANILA, Philippines - Close to P2 million worth of property was destroyed in a fire that struck the two-story married non-officers’ quarters of the National Capital Region Police Office headquarters at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City on Monday night.

According to Senior Inspector Vener Sevilla, chief arson investigator of the Taguig fire station, the fire started at about 7:54 p.m. and quickly reached third alarm.

The fire gutted about six rooms of the apartment-type building before it was put out at about 9:42 p.m.

No persons were hurt or killed in the fire, Sevilla said. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, he added.
