Guard arrested for raping student

MANILA, Philippines - A security guard was arrested Tuesday for allegedly raping a high school student he met on Facebook inside a hotel in Novaliches, Quezon City.

Police said the 14-year-old girl and suspect Jeffrey Abing, 29, had been texting each other and agreed to meet at the Nova Mall on Monday night.

The victim told investigators that Abing invited her to watch a movie at SM Fairview, but instead brought her to a hotel along Quirino Avenue in Barangay Sta. Monica.

She resisted but was allegedly forced into the hotel room by the suspect.

Once inside, the student said Abing ordered her to take a shower before she was sexually abused.

The victim revealed her ordeal to her mother, who sought police assistance.

When the suspect sent another text message to the girl, police set up an entrapment in front of a hospital, resulting in the arrest of Abing at past midnight on Tuesday.
