Janvic Mateo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A barangay tanod will be charged for violating the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition after he allegedly fired his gun in Malabon City on Friday night.

Enrique Aldizo, 49, a watchman in Barangay Tonsuya and a worker at a pumping station of the Department of Public Works and Highways, was arrested at around 10:15 p.m. following a complaint by Eduardo Boral, 45.

Inspector Christopher Millares said Boral alleged that the suspect threatened him at gunpoint and fired his gun when the complainant walked away from him after a confrontation at around 7:30 p.m.

Millares said the suspect was sleeping and visibly drunk when he was arrested in possession of a .38 caliber revolver that he allegedly fired that night.

The police officer added that the gun was loaded with five hollow-point bullets.

Charges for violating the comprehensive gun law will be filed against the suspect, who was identified by Boral following the arrest, Millares said.
