Couple uses own baby in drug deal
MANILA, Philippines - The parents of a three-month-old baby were arrested after they were caught reportedly using the infant in a drug deal in San Juan City Tuesday.
Abu Angantap and his wife, Aimee Danzel alias Aimee Angeles, were collared after handing over two sachets of shabu – hidden in their baby’s diaper – to an undercover police officer at the corner of Road 5 and Road 10 in Barangay 1st West Crame at around 9:25 p.m. Tuesday. The shabu sachets have a street value of around P1,000.
San Juan police chief Senior Superintendent Joselito Daniel said he ordered the drug bust amid reports that the couple is behind the proliferation of drugs in the barangay.
The baby was turned over to local social workers. Investigators said Angantap and Danzel admitted to peddling illegal drugs but denied using their baby in their activities.
Barely 90 minutes later, the same police team arrested Mudjahid Kasim in a drug bust along Road 10 in the same barangay.
Kasim yielded at least five grams of shabu, with a street value of P12,000.
Angantap and Danzel pointed to Kasim as their supplier. Kasim, on the other hand, claimed his source of illegal drugs is from Marikina.
Daniel said they are preparing drug pushing charges against the couple and Kasim, who are detained at the San Juan City jail.
