MANILA, Philippines - Filipino war veterans can avail themselves of free rides at the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines 1 and 2 from April 5 to 11 as part of celebrations for Philippine Veterans Week.
Hernando Cabrera, spokesman for the LRT Authority, said the war veterans just have to present their Philippine Veterans Affairs Office identification cards.
Cabrera said there were few takers of the free rides in the past.
“Last year, there were fewer than 20 in one day,†he said.
LRT Line 1 starts from Balintawak in Caloocan to Baclaran. LRT Line 2, on the other hand, starts from Recto to Santolan.
