Body dumped beside QC chapel

MANILA, Philippines - The body of a man believed to have been summarily executed was found dumped beside a chapel in a Quezon City neighborhood before dawn yesterday.

The body bore contusions on the abdomen. There was a note found beside the victim, identifying him as an “asset” or informant.

Police Officer 3 Marlon dela Vega described the victim as a man in his late 50s and clad in a white shirt and jeans when he was found by a village leader beside the Liwanag chapel in Barangay Old Balara at around 2 a.m.

Dela Vega said the man’s head was wrapped in packaging tape and he was found lying on his back.
