Big 3 can stay in Pandacan until 2016 – Erap

Jose Rodel Clapano - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada said yesterday the three big oil companies – Petron, Shell and Caltex – have until February 2016 to remove their depot in Pandacan.

Estrada said there will be no more extension after the 2016 deadline.

“This is like the truck ban. Nobody can pressure me. They have until February 2016 to vacate the area,” he said.

He said the oil depot poses danger to residents in the area.

“It can explode anytime. Malacañang might even be affected. We have no financial gains from that (oil depot) operations,” Estrada said.

The mayor said the city government will demolish the oil depot should the Big 3 refuse to transfer by 2016.
