MANILA, Philippines - The Makati city government held dialogues with various stakeholders yesterday to map out a traffic management scheme in preparation for the construction of Skyway Stage 3 project, which will start on April 15 and is projected to be completed in eight months.

Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay said that to ease traffic flow in affected areas, the city plans to utilize for traffic rerouting and diversion certain streets of Barangays San Isidro, San Antonio, Poblacion, Bel-Air, Bangkal, Sta. Cruz, Palanan, Olympia, Pio del Pilar and La Paz.

The construction is expected to affect traffic flow, particularly in barangays along Osmeña Avenue and Kalayaan Avenue.

Also discussed during the meetings was the synchronization of different road projects of various government and private entities for a well-coordinated and effective traffic management plan.

These include the retrofitting and rehabilitation of Magallanes Interchange, the relocation of the First Philippine Industrial Corp. gas pipeline, two box culverts and Manila Water’s pipeline, among others.
